Buy Me a Brownstone in Beantown!
While we love to meander through the Meatpacking District or take a sensible stroll past Sarah Jessica Parker’s brownstone in the West Village, there’s something about the architecture and charm of Boston in autumn that makes our hearts swoon. Pair this with a crisp fall afternoon and a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand (skim, of course), and we have a brilliant day in store. Recently, we cozied up with The South End Historical Society to experience one of its acclaimed architecture walking tours, and we encourage you to share the experience on your next trip to Beantown.
The South End, Boston’s charming historical and gay district, is known for its picturesque parks and brick-laid lanes. The architecture here is something only to be seen in your favorite coffee-table book. Picture immaculately manicured gardens and five-story red-brick houses complete with original wrought-iron railings. This neighborhood has been recognized as the largest existing Victorian row house district in the United States; certainly something not to be missed! Just think of it as an opportunity to pick your dream home for when your hedge fund lover finally pops the question!
