Caveman: Your Companion This Winter
We’ve been known to be a bit temperamental with the changing seasons…if not with our men, then certainly with our music. While we could be seen most of the summer dancing to the latest club remixes, cavorting with the glitterati with a bottle of champs cemented in our grasp, our mood has changed as quickly as the leaves. On cold, winter nights, we prefer a more mellow, soulful beat…one that inspires a strong hug or an even stronger drink. Cue the band Caveman, a dapper quintet of Brooklynites who are happy to keep you company this season.
Led by Matt Iwanusa, the band’s primary vocalist who started his career as a drummer, Caveman’s sound is rather primal and visceral. The deep four-part harmonies are introspective and existential, while creating full-bodied sound. The indie band has already gathered a loyal following, playing iconic venues in New York, including the Mercury Lounge and the Bowery Ballroom, but it is with their most recent album, Coco Beware, that we see Caveman sparking fire this winter!
