Cool as Ice, Tron-style
Sweden is famous for many things: gorgeous men, Ikea, boxy cars and ICEHOTEL. We’ve dreamed of visiting the frosty art installation/hotel, made entirely of snow and ice, for quite some time. But this year, we are chomping at the bit to be delivered to the door of this winter wonder via Jämtlands Flyg to see its newest suite inspired by our own current obsession “Tron: Legacy.” The “Legacy of the River” suite draws inspiration from the new film’s seductive use of pattern and glowing ribbons of light.
In order to perfect the right Tron look in the suite, British designers Ben Rousseau and Ian Douglas-Jones used 160 meters of low energy electroluminescent wire to create a sexy blue patterned glow in the space.
A spectacle for jetsetters and Tron fans alike, “Legacy of the River” will transport you another world, albeit a very cold one. And if your private Jämtlands Flyg pilot gets lost on the way to ICEHOTEL, tell him he should have made a right at the fjord, not a left…
