Dance ‘til the Oui Hours
These days in pop music, it takes more to produce a hit song than just vocal talent. Club-ready dance floor anthems have taken over the airwaves and even classic pop acts like Britney and Usher have embraced this trend by hopping on board the bass-heavy bandwagon. With acts like David Guetta and Calvin Harris tearing up the charts, DJ’s have gone from being the wizards behind the curtain to stars in the spotlight. We here at TheShowt.com would like to turn the spotlight toward a French DJ who is on the rise, mixing it up in the New York club scene.
Jerome Sudan, aka Flip Flap Man, cites Daft Punk, Cut Copy, and Stuart Price as influences that have inspired his auditory masterpieces. Marrying Euro dance anthems, sugary pop synthesizers, and intoxicating beats, Flip Flap Man has garnered a devoted fan base who sing his praises on each track posted to his Soundcloud page. More than just a DJ, however, Sudan fuses music with an impressive photography portfolio and a clever blog to create his own Flip Flap World.
Flip Flap Man has created an exclusive 90-minute mix for The Showt that, in his words, “tries to embody what the hyperbolic gay lifestyle can look like; from 8pm lounge atmosphere to 4am head-bangers that melt your ears with bravado.”
