Drinking Above the Masses (And During the Work Day)
The New York Grand Hyatt. These words may bring to mind Midtown, the bustling masses and…dare we say it…public transport, but certainly nothing chic. That is, until now. As part of a $130 million property-wide renovation, the Hyatt has created a brand new drinking destination, New York Central.
While the venue’s name may leave something to be desired, what it lacks in branding originality, it surely makes up for in design. Cantilevered over the sidewalk of 42nd Street, New York Central features a sleek and inviting interior design by Bentel & Bentel, the powerhouse firm behind such hotspots as The Modern and Eleven Madison. The space features contemporary furnishings and a large white illuminated bar with custom chandelier above, creating an inspired backdrop for enjoying a delicious bite, after-work cocktail…or if you’re feeling impetuous…a lunchtime martini!
