Eat Before the Lease is Up
Restaurants in New York come and go almost as fast as Elizabeth Taylor’s husbands. Like her first marriage to Richard Burton, some of them are around for a decade. And like her second marriage to Richard Burton, some of them are only around for nine months.
What Happens Now, the temporary, concept-restaurant in Nolita from celebrated chef John Fraser of Dovetail, mixed-media designer Emilie Baltz, interior designer Elle Kunnos de Voss, composer Micah Silver , and filmmaker Jeff Larson , falls into the latter category. The space was the deal of the decade but it came with a firm finish date - just like all of Liz’s prenups! To keep it feeling fresh, the restaurant will be completely reinvented every thirty days from top to bottom, menu to maitre d’, creating a unique experience with each iteration.
New York has so many fantastic restaurants, we would typically never think of visiting the same one twice within a year, but in this case we’ll make an exception…we’ll be going every month!
