Katharine the Great

In Manhattan, success is defined by strength.  Whether armed with feisty fashion statements or powerful political opinions…New Yorkers are driven to make themselves undeniably coveted and fabulous.  This perhaps explains our appreciation for the golden years of film icon Katharine Hepburn, a woman made famous by her undeniable strength and drive, and our excitement for the upcoming production “Tea at Five,” an intimate play reflecting on the great Katharine’s life.

“Tea at Five,” starring Charles Busch and presented by David Youse and Four Things Productions, is a one night only staged reading which will give audience members a very personal peek into the life of Katharine Hepburn. Set in 1983, after the car crash that left her permanently injured, Busch as Hepburn will recount her turbulent childhood, her tragic love affair with Spencer Tracy and failures from her career.

Promising to be an unforgettable evening of drama, the performance will also benefit The Ali Forney Center.
