Marry Me, Audra McDonald!

It’s dangerous to put Audra McDonald at a gay marriage fundraising event; the Broadway diva’s so rapturously wonderful we (almost) want to go straight every time we hear her sing. But, on top of being one of Broadway’s shining lights for nearly twenty years she’s also been one of the theatre community’s most dedicated gay allies. So, this February 16th why not join Ms. McDonald, alongside some of Broadway’s other hottest commodities (like Priscilla Queen of the Desert’s Herculean hunk Nick Adams ) and celebrate the triumph of same-sex marriage in New York, while preparing to fight for full equality throughout the rest of America.

With Book of Mormon’s Tony-winning Nikki M. James and cherubic funny-man Rory O’Malley in attendance, as well as Evita’s devastatingly dashing Max Von Essen , the Freedom To Marry “Get Engaged!” event at the new XL is bound to be the season’s can’t miss soiree for anyone who ever taped the Tony’s on VHS as a kid. (Yes. You!)  So “Get Engaged!” even if you don’t want to get married and help support the fight for national equality. You’ll be a show-stopper!
