Martha Stewart Can’t Compete with the Dutch

Martha Stewart has long been considered Queen of the Homespun, but her reign may be coming to an end.  While she toils away on her next infused beeswax centerpiece or accent pillow made from the hides of her expired day laborers, we’ve turned our attention to a Dutch design company that celebrates tradition by physically applying it to a collection of one-of-a-kind items for the home…Swarm Home.

Swarm Home was created by Leslie Oschmann , the woman responsible for transforming Anthropologie into a national chain.  After eight years with the company, Oschmann left to create Swarm Home, born out of her passion for reclaimed textiles, art and found objects.  Her unique pieces include chairs, tables and accessories, all of which are handcrafted in her Amsterdam studio.  We’re especially taken with her accent pillows which are made from old oil portraits.  Like us, they’ll only get better with age.

Your move, Martha!
