Rising Up at Ascension!

As another glorious week in Fire Island comes to an end, we prepare ourselves to return to the responsibilities of reality.  The surreal experience of the Pines Party, just this past Saturday, already feels like a distant memory, and as we dust the glitter off and change back into our tailored suit, we look ahead in anticipation for the next major sparkle of excitement on the horizon, Ascension Weekend.

Some say that comparing the Pines Party with Ascension weekend is like comparing New York and LA…inevitably loving one and hating the other.  We must firmly disagree…each has its own unique qualities.  While Pines Party is highlighted with elaborate costumes and the magical experience of watching the sun rise over the Atlantic, Ascension (and more specifically its Sunday beach party) is equally magnificent.

The elaborate beach party on Sunday, August 21st, is marked by a large dance floor built across the beach and lined with VIP and sponsor cabanas for shade and relaxation.  As the sun warms hundreds upon hundreds of beautiful, speedo-clad men, you’ll enjoy cocktails while dancing to the beats of Lee Dagger of Bimbo Jones.  Feeling hot? Cool down with an impromptu dip in the ocean then return to the dance floor to meet one of the other dripping hotties!
