The hunt for the perfect meatball is like dating in New York…there are plenty of options, but as you sink your teeth into one…you can’t help but wonder if the one at the next table will taste better.
Given the resounding success of The Meatball Shop on the Lower East Side, it seems others want in on the sweet, saucy meatball craze. Well the little-shop-that-could better watch its back, because the Factory is moving in…The Meatball Factory. Opening on October 25th, Chef Dave Martin’s new outpost on 14th Street and 2nd Avenue is set the blow the lid off the competition. Martin is the man with the balls, and his impressive culinary credits include Top Chef (Season One), The Frying Dutchman, and what is arguably the campiest diner in the gayborhood, ‘Vynl’.
The Meatball Factory will serve housemade gourmet meatballs with a twist: the Turducken Meatball, the Short Rib Meatball, and the Braised Pork Meatball. To wash down all the meaty goodness, expect no less than eighteen craft beers on tap.
The term “juicy meatball” doesn’t just apply to hot Jersey Guidos anymore…
