Squeeze into These Stilettos, Bitches!
The recent VMAs remind us how very sad the music industry has become, but that realization has re-ignited our desire to search out the best emerging artists. Among other genres, Electro Pop is finding a growing following internationally with groups like Tel Aviv’s TYP who we recently featured as well as Dragonette who just performed live at the Ascension Beach Party in Fire Island Pines. This week, we bring attention to a group right here in downtown Manhattan…Stiletto Effect.
Stiletto Effect is a young collaboration, existing less than two years, but one that has enjoyed quick success after opening for Dragonette in August 2010. Lead Singer and part-time NYC/Atlanta nightlife promoter Barry Brandon is influenced by artists such as Robyn, Passion Pit, and Ima Robot. Stiletto Effect’s resulting sound is one of catchy electronic synth lines and danceable drum patterns which in ways remind us of some older BT.
