Str8t Guys Love a Gay Man
Yes, we know where you just went…we also had a Jake Ryan moment….sigh. It’s true that our urban str8t brethren love us, but we’re concerned it may be primarily for one reason: chicks. You see, we stylish, sophisticated gay guys are the perfect wing men for our straight buds looking for love…or at least some loving.
We are always being asked to join our boys to knock back a few beers. Why? Because many of us are chick magnets…shiny, gorgeous, well-dressed beacons of hope for the single girl.
It goes something like this: We’re standing at the bar watching SportsCenter. She approaches and then is crushed to learn that we watch ESPN for the same reason she does. Quickly recovering, our new BFF opens up about wanting to meet a great guy. We know just the one….. our available friend. We love him, so it is like a stamp of approval. We facilitate a conversation, drop a few naughty innuendos and then step aside, to watch the magic unfold.
This selfless act is typically rewarded by two text messages the following morning: Him: “Dude, when are we hanging AGAIN??” Her: “OMG, OMG! When are we going shopping?”
What can we say…we like giving back. And besides, we gotta knock out those community service hours somehow….
