Turning Over a New Leaf
Making the trek to the Cloisters is something that every New Yorker should do this time of year. We love gazing across the Hudson toward what is perhaps the only acceptable stretch of New Jersey, surrounded by the changing leaves. The trip also makes us very, very hungry. But where is a sophisticated city boy to dine in scenic upstate Manhattan?
Executive Chef Scott Campbell invites you to dine at New Leaf, his culinary venture in Fort Tryon Park. Campbell, formerly of Union Square Cafe and the Oak Room, combines flavors and techniques from Asia, the Mediterranean, France, and California to create a marvelous menu for the changing seasons.
The setting is absolutely apropos considering that the restaurant is housed in a beautiful stone structure and is one arm of the New York Restoration Project, Bette Midler’s non-profit that supports the restoration and maintenance of New York City parks and gardens. All proceeds from the restaurant benefit the Divine Miss M’s programs, so we encourage you make your meal a feast.
