Valentine’s Gift Guide
Three things come to mind when Valentine’s Day approaches; jewelry, chocolate and flowers. At least for the ladies. Now it’s time to get fabulous for The Showt boys!
Let the straight guys agonize over the perfect diamond ring. We want fun, stylish accessories that we can actually wear. Introducing the dark sense of humor, pharmy-inspired necklaces of Cast of Vices’. Available at Oak , these little silver pendants come in the exact shape and size of vicodin, xanax, percocet and oxycontin pills. But if you really want to give your heart to someone special, check out Lillian Crowe’s anatomically correct heart pendants. These babies are available in white brass and 14k gold, depending, we guess, on how in love you are!
Brooklyn florist Rose Red and Lavender has changed our minds on the whole girly flower thing. Their collection of special Valentine’s arrangements are at once quirky and sophisticated. They’re delicate and rustic, and look like something that actually grew in a garden rather than a hothouse. We particularly love the Wild Garden, a mixture of garden roses and flowering quince twigs in a burlap wrapped pint jar. And there’s not a heart or cherub in sight!
Ok, let’s talk chocolate. Go for sophistication over sentimentality, and hit Oriol Balaguer. Any of Balaguer’s sleekly packaged assortments of chocolates would do the trick, but the “I Looooove You” Valentine’s Day box just seems most appropriate this time of year.
See? We knew we could pull off a schmaltz-free Valentine’s Day for the boys!
