Very Scary on Varick
The housing market in Manhattan is scary enough, but if you’re interested in a real fright, we suggest closing the real estate listings and heading to Blood Manor. Located on Varick Street, near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel…we guarantee the passing Jersey commuters are enough to terrify you before you even enter.
Blood Manor now enters its 6th year as one of NYC’s hottest Halloween attractions. What truly separates the Manor from others is its attention to detail in both the visual design and casting. Many of the actors in this “production” come back year after year and even prepare for their roles months in advance. Needless to say, they take their task of scarying visitors very seriously. In addition, the Manor adds a new feature this year, which we found to be an incredible highlight…an entire area in which actors and the environment is painted with 3D paint creating a trippier experience than when we hot boxed with the townies back at Exeter.
Get ready to be scared, but let us warn you to be careful what you plan post-Blood Manor. Our Editor in Chief Ty Kuppig found this out the hard way, when he strolled into Fig & Olive after visiting the Manor, not realizing his hand and shirt were smeared with fake blood from the attraction. Needless to say, he was NOT greeted with a smile.
